When I'm testing out two different versions of code, and I want to see what the differences are between their output, there's an easy way to switch the activity between these two different sets of code:

Do_Action("Alpha");

Do_Action( "Beta");

In the above code, as you can see from the coloration, Do_Action("Alpha"); is the only code that is going to be executed. But if I remove one of the asterisks in the first comment, you'll see a different set of code:
/*/
Do_Action("Alpha");
/*/
Do_Action( "Beta");
/**/

Why does this work? In the re-colored parts below, you'll see that the comment controls, that is, the parts the control where the comments start and end, is in green, but the actual comments, the stuff in the comments, is in red. I've also moved the actual comments into a 3rd, seperated line. You can see that by simply removing the first asterisk in the first comment, we do not change the number of comments (always 2), but instead simply change what parts of the code is commented out, and which parts are left in.

It's been one month since I quit smoking.
What have I learned in that month? The following:
#1 It is hard to quit smoking.
#2 It is even harder to do it cold turkey.
#3 It is even harder than that to quit when you brother in law who smokes comes back into town.
#4 Other smokers tend to be humored that you think you can quit.
#5 That attitude helps since you want to show them up.
#6 Your significant other can help you remember why you're quitting.
#7 Your significant other can make you wonder why you're quitting. (Just kidding.)
#7 (For real real, not for play play) The extra stress of knowing you can't have a cigarette to deal with the stress you have is like 5 times as bad.
#8 You have to want to quit. You can't quit for someone else, you have to quit for yourself.
#9 Getting to a month makes everything else worth it, knowing you'l be there later in life for your significant other (Gabi), friends (Jaime), and family (Ari, Nathan, Jojo, and Adam).

Well, we got our bed and 2 dressers and our computers moved in (the two that Gabi's letting bring with me, plus her computer), and the comcast guy should be here any minute, so I should have internet soon. (Posting from my phone at the moment) So I feel like we're pretty much moved in, which is nice. We'll be moving everything else over later, so here's to hoping everything goes well with our move as well as with Adam and Michael's. Have fun all! |

In work related news, a short, effeminate black man that calls himself C-Tone (Think of an in-the-closet T-Bob from http://somethingpositive.net/ with more melanin.) in my class at West has been bragging about the fact that he's a player, in that he's dating 3 women, and keeping it from all of them.
So I got one of their numbers and texted her "Are you one of C-Tone's girlfriends?"

Of course, as all of you know, I'm not Histrionic, I'm just helping people by showing them they should be paying attention to me.
Also, I'm not Narcissistic, I'm just really freaking awesome and I just happen to be aware of it. And finally, I'm not Obsessive Compulsive, I just like to balance out everything that touches me so that it touches both sides of my body in the same place with the same pressure, that way my brain doesn't flip out and start making me walk in circles.

So, tonight ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) silent_r_infork and I had an encounter with a "quote unquote" gentleman.
This "gentleman" hit on nipperstixchik (my fiance for the uninitiated [unintelligent])
and then later put his arm around silent_r_infork's shoulder and tried to insult him. silent_r_infork then put his mouth near the "gentleman"'s ear and whispered "Remove your arm, Now." and after he had done so, whispered, "Don't ever touch me again." with this expression: 
Later on, silent_r_infork and nipperstixchik told me the full story about the "gentleman" hitting on her, (drawing a picture of her was included) and silent_r_infork defending her honour (yes, I can be British if I want to, damn it!) After I understood what the situation was, I asked silent_r_infork to turn around so that I could go back and "explain the intricacies of courting my common law wife" to the "gentleman". By that I mean that silent_r_infork drove me back to the party so that I could give him a hug and whisper into his ear "If you ever hit on my girlfriend again, I swear to God I will kill you and hide your body where no one will ever find it. And the fact that I don't have a criminal record should be proof enough of my skill."
silent_r_infork and I feel good about the party, and our complete deconstruction of the "gentleman"'s comprehension of his place in the world and his role in it. |

I'm not sure why this needs to be posted, but my subconscious says the lack of an attached face to the art of S*P has restricted my comprehension of it recently. (Have I mentioned that my subconscious seems to be getting less abstract to my point of view, almost to the point of being like I'm thinking along 2 different lines at the same time?)

I found a way to run linux programs over the network on my windows machine, and while the computer i'm at is running windows, the programs I'm using are running on a linux machine. And the programs look like they are running on windows.
